From the illustration of the pie chart on the left, the proportions of the middle-aged and older people who attend the ferry journey are much bigger than other ages. The phenomenon indicates that the life style of the middle-aged and older people produces dramatic change.
They are more likely to enjoy their life on travelling, learning and doing different experience rather than staying at home and living with dull. Furthermore, it also interprets the apparent development not only in economic factor but also in culture and education ones in modern society. In the meantime, from the illustration of the pie chart on the right side, the proportions of the big group tour are dramatically decreasing. This situation defiantly occurs since the prompting of the tourism. People gradually choose the individual and separated ways with their families or friends but in big groups.
In conclusion, the pie charts of the ferry travelling instruct the huge changing of the condition in tourism, and also interpret the differences in the whole society.
As is illustrated in the pie chart, the largest portion of cruise travellers consist of old man; the secondary consumer group is middle aged man. Seldom young people or children lean towards cruise. Meanwhile, two companions are more common to see, which is 41.06% of all travellers. Three or four to six travelling group takes 27.21% and 24.65% respectively. Single or large number of companions is competitively race.
What I can infer from the chart is that, nowadays old couples are more likely to take cruise, while their children might be busy with their jobs. This is also a signal that the aged men are more open minded and enjoy their own life ever than before. Moreover, people possibly prefer to travel with their family or close friends, which contribute to half portion of total as three to six people.
To analysis the consumers of cruise may help us learn more about the simple fact of travelling situation with cruise and also could be a significant reference to practitioners to make their marketing plan in the industry.
As can be clearly seen from the pie chart, the age of cruise visit is significantly different, 53.26% for elder people, 27.8% for mid age people, and younger person is only occupied by 7.71%. Meanwhile, the number of accompany is separately three persons for 27.21%, four – six members for 24.65%, and others is roughly 7%, and more importantly two members is occupied by 41.06%.
What accounts for the significant difference? From my perspectives, three reasons contribute to this difference. First of all, people’s turning attitude and outlook on society and life have a great impact on the age of visit and visit members. More and more elder men have enough money and time to afford the travel; and most of new marriages go to travel for honey moon. Furthermore, with the typical development of economy and the advancement of modern technology, the China’s high railway is fast more than before, which shrink the time of travel; finally, the industry of cruise travel is popular in recent years; the company can supply attractive price for travelers so that the number of traveling is developed for elder persons.
With the development of society, the circumstance is bound to continue for a few years. In the future, as far as I am concerned, it’s a positive trend and should be encouraged since it is beneficial not merely to the children but to the whole society.
The two pie charts given above show the age distribution and companion preference of cruise ship travelers. Judging from the chart on the left, elder travelers prefer cruise ship more than any other age group people. Meanwhile, younger people, especially students, find cruise ship traveling not that appealing. The percentage is 53.26% to 19.94%. In terms of the second pie chat, people travel in pair accounts for 41.06%, which means that traveling in pair is the most popular choice.
Apart from the pair form, reveling in a grow of 3-6 is also quite prevalent, when travel alone or in larger grow has become the unexpected choice.
In my point of view, there are many reasons that contribute to the phenomenon. Firstly, as cruise ship traveling is very slow, it acquires abundant time, which elder people have after retirement, while younger people are busy with work. Secondly, traveling in pair gives couples a romantic private time together, giving them the opportunity to write a unique memory while traveling alone may seem a bit lonely. Finally, when combine the two charts together, we may find elder couples the most suitable for cruise ship.
As is illustrated in the pie chart, the total share of the senior people and middle aged people who traveled by cruise occupies roughly more than 80% of the total number, and the second pie chart shows that majority of the people ,approximately more than 92% prefer to travel by cruise with a partner.
What accounts for the dramatic contrast? As far as I am concerned, there are at least three factors that contribute greatly to this contrast. To begin with, the senior and middle aged people are almost retired. They have much more spare time compared with the younger people who are in fierce competition for a promotion in their career life or the students who have no choice but to shoulder the heavy burden for an impressive score. More importantly, traveling by cruise is more convenient and safer for the elder and middle age people. Comfortable accommodations and convenient facilities are provided by various means at any time. Considerable health care and professional safeguard system will undoubtedly erase your last concern. Finally we are people of community. We all enjoy charting things with someone for a trip; we must admit that desert taste better if someone enjoys with you.
It’s obvious that when the elder people are planning for a tour. Cruise will be absolutely the choice, and calling for a couple of two or three friends watching the sunset, enjoying the sunshine.
